This button pin is a souvenir for "So Border, a famous, campy roadside attraction located in Hamer, South Carolina.
Features Pedro, the fictional Mexican bandido-style caricature who serves as the complex's mascot.
Displays the phrase "Amigo of Pedro," which was a common marketing slogan used on souvenir items.
Situated right off Interstate 95 just south of the North Carolina / South Carolina border line.
Opened in 1949 by Alan Schafer as a simple drive-in beer depot catering to residents from dry North Carolina counties.
Grown into a 350-acre complex featuring a motor inn, souvenir shops, a reptile lagoon, and the famous 200-foot Sombrero Tower.
