In the late 1940s to early 1950s, the spelling changed from two words ("BOB CAT") to the single word ("BOBCAT") seen on your pin. Historically, when a Scout first earned this pin, it was pinned to their uniform upside down. It could only be turned right-side up after the Scout performed a "good deed.
