The Beatrix jewelry company was founded in Rhode Island in 1946 by Nat Sugarman, who named it after his sister, Beatrice.
Initially, the company was not particularly successful and did not mark its jewelry pieces.
In 1965, the company was purchased by its manager, Leonard Mandell. Specialization: Beatrix became well known for its Christmas and other holiday-themed jewelry, producing these items between 1966 and 1983. They also created jewelry for other companies.
The company produced various holiday pieces, including Christmas bell pendants similar in theme to the brooch pictured.
