Colorful 1950s Vintage Rare Sterling Silver Siamese Niello Brooch In Great Condition.

This great detailed brooch pin measures approximately 2 1/2" tall.

This piece features traditional black enamel work depicting the goddess Mekkala.

It features traditional Thai craftsmanship and depicts a specific figure from Southeast Asian mythology.

It is crafted from sterling silver (often marked "STERLING" reverse) and decorated with Niello, a black mixture of copper, silver, and lead sulphides used as an inlay.

The brooch is shaped like a leaf with ornate, pierced, and engraved edges on one side.

Mekkala is the Goddess of Lightning, often shown with sparks or a jewel in her hand representing lightning. Some variations may also depict a Bodhisattva or a traditional dancer.

An Awesome Vintage Rare Brooch Pin For The Collector.
