This Nice Vintage Rare 1940s Girl Scout "BE PREPARED" First Class Curved Bar Gold Tone Pin is in Good Condition. The Pin measures approximately 1/4" tall.
Great Girl Scout Curved Bar Award pin, dating from 1947 to 1963. It was the highest award in Girl Scouting during that time. Awarded to First Class Girl Scouts. Served as a bridge to Senior Girl Scouting. Features the text "BE PREPARED" and a green trefoil (three-leaf clover).
The curved bar shape was introduced in 1940, initially as a patch due to wartime metal shortages. This pin was discontinued in 1963 when the First Class Award was reintroduced.
