Cool Vintage 1990s US Air Force Special Operations Gold Tone Enamel Pin In Excellent Condition.
This vintage pin features the emblem of the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC).
The AFSOC emblem contains several symbols, each with a specific meaning:
Black background: Symbolizes the night, which is when the command typically conducts its operations.
Winged dagger: Represents the military preparedness and the swift and silent mobilization of forces. The design of the dagger is inspired by the V-42 fighting knife, a tribute to the British Chindit special forces and the Office of Strategic Services from World War II.
