This purse features small handmade figurines known as worry dolls (or muñecas quitapenas in Spanish).
Worry dolls are traditional, tiny figurines that originated from Mayan legends in the highlands of Guatemala and southern Mexico. They are typically handcrafted using wire, wood, or paper wrapped in colorful woven textiles and embroidery thread.
According to tradition, these dolls possess a special ability to alleviate stress and anxiety:
Before going to bed, a person tells one of their worries or sorrows to a doll.
